Edison High's super stud quarterback is heading to Buffalo, NY tomorrow for his official visit with the University of Buffalo. The three-year varsity starter who had a great senior season has been patiently waiting for his offer. I have no idea why Davis is still available, but he's a great quarterback with a rocket arm. Whatever school decides to offer him is going to get a great young man and an outstanding quarterback. I will have more details after the weekend when I speak with Davis again.

I'll tell you why Jerry Davis was still available late. His HC was in charge of his recruitment.
Buffalo orignially showed interest in the spring of 07, but JD's HC pushed them aside because he he believed JD was better than the Bulls.
Buffalo signed two other qbs in the 08 class, and JD became their third option when he got his offer the day before signing day. So why did his HC sway him back to a school at the last minute when he originally felt it wasn't good enough?
I believe, JD is the only Edison player, save TJ, since McDonald has been the HC that was not helped in the recruiting process by former AC Tony Perry. And it shows.
JD was one of the best players in the Valley, and his reward? He will head all the way across the country to battle two other qbs in what has been one of the worst programs in the country since joining FBS. Turner Gill is turning around the program, but Buffalo is just a stepping stone for Gil. He could leave after 08 if he continues to improve the Bulls. And JD, who is expected to RS, could be stuck playing for a coach that did not recruit him.
Hopefully, JD sticks it out. Otherwise, he could become another Edison player coming back home. But at least it won't because of MJ, yes I'm talking about Mr. Sears and Mr. Peele.
